The Boronia is Still Alive!

From the chatty and lovely feedback I received on last weeks blog, ‘Boronia Blues’, it sounds like those who are like me and struggle growing Boronia are also challenged by Daphne! And, whats more, a lot of us are trying to grow either or both because they remind us of our mums and grandmothers. Isn’t that just the most beautiful thing?

This week has been chaotic on the hill. Cattle being carted in all directions, breeding programs started, halted, reprogramed, restarted (don’t ask; it’s been a logistical and mental nightmare). The Princess has also had her birthday and I can’t believe it was 14 years ago that I was asking the anaesthetist could he please make doubly sure the doctor was right and it was a girl, because I was sure it was a boy … Surely we couldn’t have been that clever after TWO boys?!

AND all that pink! It was very surreal.

We have the Maffra Show coming up this weekend. We’ll be there with The Princess and her heifer and I’ve also entered the crochet section with two pieces. I can’t believe I could’ve been that audacious, being such a beginner but I had a rush of blood and hey presto! the form was filled in and lodged before I could have second thoughts. I do like to support the show pavilion with something even if it is bumpy crochet. So now we’re crossing fingers and toes!

PS. The Boronia is still alive too!

Who tried the Creamy Chicken Marsala last week? We did and loved it. It’s definitely one for the permanent recipe book.

This week we’ve got a link to another chicken recipe. I made this during the week and it got an all round thumbs up from the Fambam.

I’m midway through the latest Vince Flynn novel, RED WAR. This is the new release in a series of book, starring the invincible Mitch Rapp. He’s a bit of a honey and gives author, Lee Child’s, charismatic Jack Reacher a run for his money in my personal popularity stakes. Vince Flynn passed away in 2013 after a three year battle with cancer, but co-author Kyle Mills does not let the side down and delivers a great read if you like fast paced, thriller/espionage novels. I’m really enjoying it.

My new puppy! Despite writing you a lovely blog about her, my Macbook Air swallowed it whole, and I can’t convince the computer to turn on and give it up! I’ll keep trying …

… at my new puppy playing with the Kelpie, Ange. Ange is reliving her teenage-hood and has decided the new addition to the family, despite her tiny size, is not a rabbit to be chomped on; she’s actually a new play-mate!

Until next time,
